Golden Batch 1971 Celebrates Van Mahotsav In College

The Degree Batch 1971 students celebrated Van Mahotsav Day in the Alma Mater on July 6, 2021 near Arrupe Block, St Aloysius College.

As part of the Golden Jubilee year's activities, the Degree Batch 1971 students had proposed celebrating Van Mahotsav Day in the Alma Mater on July 6, 2021 near Arrupe Block, St Aloysius College.

After receiving Fr Principal's approval and determining the available planting space, it was decided that Royal Palm Saplings would be the best choice. Since the saplings grow into trees, they give a very majestic look to the entire surrounding.

This concept of planting Royal Palm Trees on each side of the pathway leading from the main entrance to the administrative building is frequently used by several national and international universities.

Five of these saplings have been planted so far. The goal is to establish a nursery so that, in a few years, when the college transforms into a university, the same trees can be planted on both sides of the institution's pathway.

Rev. Fr Melwin Pinto SJ, Rector, St Aloysius Institutions, Rev. Fr Praveen Martis SJ, Principal, St Aloysius College, Dr Alwyn Dsa, Registrar, Dr Richard Gonsalves, Treasurer, SACAA, Mr Naveen Mascarenhas, Secretary, SACAA were present along with 1971 Batch students.

From 1971 Batch, Mr Walter DSouza, Dr Cletus DSouza, Prof. Edmund Frank, Mr Sudhakar Hegde, Mr Harish Shetty, Mr Dinesh C.P, Fr Joseph DMello, Mr Ronald Fernandes were present.
