JAAI Goa Congress

St Aloysius College Alumni Association (SACAA) Mangaluru won the Social Champions Award at
the 11 th Federation of Jesuit Alumni Associations of India (JAAI) Congress held in Goa at the
Salgaokar Institute of International Hospitality Management from 6 to 8 February 2026. The
award was conferred in recognition of the outreach programmes organized for the
transformation of the minds of prison inmates in the Mangalore District Prison in association
with St Aloysius (Deemed To Be University) Mangaluru and District Legal Services Authority
during the period 2023 to June 2025 in order that they lead a dignified life after their release
from prison. The SACAA team included Rev Fr Melvin Pinto SJ, Rector and Karnataka Province
Coordinator, Edmund Frank, Anil Kumar Maruthi J, Dr Richard Gonsalves, Michael D’Souza,
Naveen Mascarenhas, Conrad Nazareth, Denis Lobo, Dr Zeena Mendonca and Mrs Savitha
D’Souza.
